Mahila Samridhi Yojana (MSY)
Mahila Samridhi Yojana (MSY) is a government initiative designed to support women entrepreneurs from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds. This scheme is implemented under the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC), which operates under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The primary objective of MSY is to provide microfinance to women entrepreneurs, either directly or through Self-Help Groups (SHGs), enabling them to establish and expand their businesses. The scheme is executed nationwide through various channel partners, ensuring financial assistance reaches the targeted beneficiaries.
Target Beneficiaries
- Self-Help Groups (SHGs): The scheme aims to empower and support SHGs, particularly those consisting of women from marginalized communities who face economic hardships.
- Women from Economically and Socially Backward Classes: This includes women from underprivileged sections, especially those belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).
Objectives of Mahila Samridhi Yojana

Key Benefits

- Beneficiaries repaying MSY loans through State Channelizing Agencies (SCAs) become eligible for further financial assistance under the NSFDC scheme.
Eligibility Criteria
- Women applicants must be between 18 to 55 years of age.
- The scheme is applicable to women belonging to economically and socially backward classes, as defined by the Central and State Governments.
Application Process
Offline Application
- Visit the official NSFDC website or your State Government portal to access the application.
- Download the Mahila Samridhi Yojana application form.
- Fill out the form with necessary details, including name, age, contact information, and required loan amount.
- Submit the completed application form along with the required documents.
Loan Disbursement Process
- NSFDC provides loans through Channel Partners, including State Channelizing Agencies (SCAs), Regional Rural Banks (RRBs), Public Sector Banks, and Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFC-MFIs).
- Eligible applicants (Scheduled Caste women with an annual family income of up to ₹3,00,000) must submit their loan applications to the District Offices of SCAs.
- After verification, applications are forwarded to the Head Offices of SCAs.
- Upon approval, funds are disbursed to the respective SCAs, RRBs, or Public Sector Banks, which then provide loans to the beneficiaries.
- Loan repayment follows a schedule set by the SCAs/CAs, ensuring systematic repayment management.
